HOW ATTRACTIVE ARE YOU REALLY? A recent study by a psychologist at the University of Texas at Austin gives some insights into how we see ourselves, and how others see us.
She showed photographs of people to males and females and asked them to rate these in terms of: - how attractive they thought those of the opposite sex were, and - how attractive they thought the people in the photographs would be to the opposite sex.
What did Dr. Hill find? As she had predicted: - men thought the men were more attractive to women than they really were and the women thought the same about the women.
So what can we conclude? The old saying is true - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
If you think the competition is more attractive than you are, pluck up your courage,
they are likely thinking the same thing!
Have you ever met someone you thought was unattractive, bordering on ugly? Once you get to know this person, find out they have a great personality, and you have lots of fun with them. Once this happens, you find that they have become physically attractive, and you wonder why you originally thought they were unattractive. Being attractive seems to be a whole lot more complicated than a particular set of physical features.
